Online Reputation – This goes close together with branding. By telling a strong and to the point story, emphasizing your capabilities, you’ll create a reliable reputation. Only give valuable and relevant info.
PR – Contact other companies, groups and people who have authority in their field. These people will spread a positive light on your company.
Community – The PR conducted by contacting sympathizers, you can use to create a group of people who will post free messages on different social media channels. Doing so, you will get even more followers…
Service – The direct communication through Social Media can work both ways. You, as a company can work more proactive for solving problems and giving better and quicker service to clients.
Knowledge Sharing – The word says it all; sharing knowledge with others, GIVE! The more you GIVE, the more you will be appreciated! Also a perfect way to expand your community.
Increase your Leads – This is what the game is all about! You want more leads, more customers, more sales, etc. Social Media gives you the opportunity to reach out to people and to get tons of new leads.

Social Media is a challenging addition to the traditional ways of doing business.
The essence is focused on proactive behaviour towards the client throughout the whole process when serving the client.
Due to social media, the company cannot dictate anymore the road ahead… clients are taking charge and decide how to proceed. Marketing, sales and service take short cuts nowadays, everything goes faster.
This development requires a new approach. A new approach by adding VALUE through starting a dialogue in this new environment, instead of old fashioned client relationship management.
“Value” is also Key! In your online communication you’ll need to give your public Value! Information that solves problems or that leads your potential lead towards a solution, namely your product. Simple sale pitches are not done! A plan of action with your goals well described, can be a first step to set up a valuable campaign.
After naming your goals, the next step is an online analysis of your company, the products and services, your staff, your target groups, competitors, etc. in order to determine where your opportunities lie. To come to a right mix, you need to know the activities of your target group; what do they do, what do they speak about, which sources do they use, etc.
When you know which discussion groups they’ve joined on Linkedin, you know where to put your content. Sharing content with your potential clients creates goodwill.
Once again, adding Value is Key!
The way you do this is important! Just having a good product in your portfolio is not enough… Your competitors have similar products or he will act like he has… And your client will find the competitor fast… Google is the name.
To distinguish yourself you’ll need to give your client real relevant information, information that solves his problem. To do this effectively you need to know the business environment of your client. And you can easily ask, because the client will appreciate that you are interacting with him, especially when it will serve him.
So you will serve you target group. Hard? No! When creating content it is important to stay close to your line of expertise. Tell what you already know! The only thing what is different is the way you communicate your message. This has to appeal to your client. The fine-tuning of this communication is one of the main aspects of effective social media marketing.
Your online analysis will help you with that. Information from that analysis will give you grip and show you which way to follow.

Despite Facebook is known as a Social Media channel for young people, more & more companies are using a professional Facebook Page for promotion and communication.
This page does not have to have the same name as the company… You can also use an alias. e.g. You sell furniture for the company XYZ but your Facebook Page has the name “This is the furniture is like…”
Through this channel you can direct people towards your product, your company or also to your Blog where they can read more detailed information.
The Twitter Tweets
Mostly hand in hand with Facebook, Twitter also interacts with a lot of potential clients. Twitter is more direct. It is a great tool to direct people to your website or blog. Twitter is gaining in popularity and its features are also expanding.
A Youtube Channel
Seeing is believing… You want to go a step further? Using Youtube will even work faster. The strength of a video is enormous. Youtube is the second most visited website after Google. A short and decisive video about a product can say much more that a long review…
If you feel there is a movie star inside of you, then Youtube is the next thing to do.
The Business channel! If you want to interact on a corporate level, then Linkedin is the place to be! Also Linkedin is getting more popular everyday! Its features are also expanding and you will be able to do real business with the help of Linkedin.
These are just a few Social Media channels, there are a lot more things to discover online. But these tools are a good place to start.
